Update******

Pat Brown had some troubles and wrecked on a downhill section on the first lap.

Harold Goodman had his seat come off which dropped him back.

Doug Gust had another pretty serious wreck. His bike hooked and slammed him to the ground, knocking him out again. He was taken off the track on a back board.

Warnerade
06-19-2005, 10:59 AM
harold needs to fix that seat problem, it came off for TT too...terrible.

thats what i was thinking its probably over by now lol

Warnerade
06-19-2005, 01:28 PM
noon and 3 is the approximate time they start...there is often hold ups with otehr motos that hold up the start time.

Harvey
06-19-2005, 01:28 PM
they wouldn't be this late starting would they?

Warnerade
06-19-2005, 01:30 PM
their is a possibility that someone could have gotten hurt badly in the moto before the second pro, and theres a chance it could hold up this long. They could also be doing unscheduled track maintenence if things got realy bad.

Harvey
06-19-2005, 01:31 PM
guess I'll have to watch Nascar then

Ellis can mix it up with the best of em, don't leave him out! He's one of my favorite riders! The top pros are seperating because they're factory riders, most factory riders don't need very time consuming jobs, so they can ride more often, and ride for free.

Pat Brown got a in a nice little wreck. After the up hill double everyone was all cluttered and gust was charging to get to the front and ran over his tire andsent Brown flipping. It looked bad but he got back on and finished the race.

i figured the points out...if i'm right...30 points for an overall. Natalie has 219, Gust has 178. He's leading by 41 points. This means, if he got suspended, he would STILL be in the lead by 11 points. Natalie is incredible. he's a class of his own. when you're racing at this level, a 10 second lead is almost unheard of. this guy deservers credit, cause credit is due to him. i can't wait to see him take the title. good job Natalie!!! i'm not a fan of Gust but i hate to see any Pro go down, no matter who it is. i hope Gust is ok.

i was there, they took gust out in the first moto after the wreck. he sit in the ambulance for awhile then they took him to the hospital for evaluation. one of his pit members said he was complaining of kneck and back pain.

Hope all is well and he ends up fine.

That was the first pro race i have been to. It was awsome. Those guys are so frickin fast to watch in person.
Got to meet quite a few of the pro too. Natalie is pretty cool, talked with him for a few minutes. Michell Reiser is so hot, and she can ride too!! Dunk was cool as hell. Talked with him for about 5-10 minutes about that crazy cliff drop in Hurvoes 7. LOL
Farr seemed alright. He was halfway in the door to his trailer when me and my buddy got there and he came back to sign a few more us. Pretty nice if you ask me.

The rest of the racing was great too. That uphill triple was insane to watch.

Actually the triple behind the starting gate has been done by a few riders almost every year...dating way back to 1994 or 1995. I did it a few times in 1999 I believe it was when I was racing Pro-am there. The jump itself wasn't too bad, it was landing in the holes that form on the back side of the 3rd jump that sucked.

As most of you may know, GNC Pro MX racer Doug Gust was injured this past weekend at the High Point GNC race.

I just got off the phone with Cindi Hart, here is the update.

They are getting ready to go home now, they had to keep doug at the hospital over night. He is in a neck brace and on crutches, he banged up his knee pretty bad and his neck/back is pretty sore. But he is in good spirits and is planning on racing Daniel Boone!

What happened during the race was Doug was hitting the corner that was pretty slick and theres a little twist/bump in the turn and it shot him right into the fence.

Everyone please keep Doug and Cindi in your prayers.
Another Suzuki rider, Russel Shumaker also had a crash this weekend hurting his leg and wrist i believe, so please keep him in your prayers also.

This is all the info i have right now, im sure in a few days Cindi will be posting something.

Best wishes to Digger and Russell and all the riders hurt this weekend! Sounded like a very unforgiving track. I hope Doug can recover fast enough to do well at Daniel Boone. Knowing him he will come out and podium again at Danial Boone!

Natalie, wow, what can I say, he is just not human this year.

Does anyone know why the ATVA took REM NES or whatever its called video rights away and they can no longer be a vender? Seems very strange to me.

ATVA/AMA Strips Rem-N-S Productions of Sponsorship and Video Rights

What has started off as unsubstantiated rumors has turned out to be the unfortunate truth for Rick Frisco and his Rem-N-S Productions company. According to the ATVA director Doug Morris, a serious security breach involving Rem-N-S Productions has resulted in the termination of their vending and video rights for the ATVA GNC series. “While we recognize the contributions that Rem-N-S has made to the sport, this unfortunate incident was serious enough that the ATVA, the AMA and its legal department felt that there was no choice but to terminate the current agreements with Rem-N-S”, says Doug Morris.

We asked Mr. Morris if he could elaborate on what transpired, he replied, “I cannot comment on the situation at this time.”

For the sake of ATV Sport Television’s coverage of the GNC series, the ATVA will allow Rem-N-S to film the next few GNC races until ATV Sport’s Elhert Publishing finds a film company to replace them. Rem-N-S will be allowed to continue selling their videos from all of the previous rounds of the series, but since their agreement has been terminated, they will not be allowed to continue vending at the tracks.

Thanks for the update on Gust! My best wishes for his recovery! I wanna see some more drama before John wraps this up!

As for John, it's about time he gets some luck! Last year he had problem after problem. He's always been the rider he is today. Just now he doesn't have the worry of "will my engine blow" or the chain come off. He's an animal! :macho

I just want to say congrats to John... we all knew you could always ride like that and it was only a matter of time before everyone else relized how crazy you actually are! Just keep on kickin *****!!

Here is a updated post from Cindi on Doug's condition.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Doug is doing Ok. He is really banged up but finally at home.

They took him to the hospital for neck and back pain. Also he wasn't remembering what happened. He didn't remember he was racing for about 40 minutes. Since he just had been knocked out only 7 weeks ago they were concerned. When we got the the hospital they did cat scans and several x-rays and decided he needed to stay. They saw a break in his back between his shoulders so they did several more X-Rays. They had to call in a specialist to determine if the fracture was old or new. They woke him up every hour throughout the night to check for numbness and vitals due to the head trauma.

The next morning they determined the fracture was old and probably from his crash a Birch Creek. They did a few more X-Rays and released him. He left the hospital in a neck brace and on crutches. His knee was sore and they were afraid he may trip and fall and they were concerned about his neck. They didn't see anything wrong in his neck but it is very sore. They say you don't always see the hairline fracture right away and they want to be safe.

He is not liking the neck brace and is getting a little cranky. LOL

We did talk to Bobby Ross's dad. He was in surgery when we left. His dad said they were able to fix his hip. They didn't have to use the titanium. It broke is 3 pieces and the doctor I beleive was going to plate it. His dad said he is determined to heal up and race at Lorretta's.

Glen Vaughn (not sure how to spell that) from the plus 30 was getting a pin put in for his broken hip but was doing well.

There was a guy I forgot his name but he races an A class and broke both ankles when he came up short on the big step up. He had surgey on one ankle and was being sent home for 2 more. He was doing good.

Russell Shoemaker #66 crashed on the big step-up when his carb fell off as he was already committed. He bailed over the bars like superman and landed on his feet but he has a pretty bad sprain. I wish we could all learn to throw the bike away like that. He is doing good.

I wish them all well. And thank you for all your emails and calls on Doug. I will keep you posted on his condition.

It's great to hear that everyone is doing well. Does anyone know anything about Cody Tabscout? We heard that they were helping him breath because of a collasped lung.

Besides Farr, I do believe Little has won also. :) and whoever said it before is right, Ellis can hang with the best of em. He's my favorite rider, then after him is the coolest rider IMO, Dunk! Jones is also a "contender"...Byrd was on fire too! It's nice to see him up front....we need the old days back...when it was anyones race...Farr, Gust, Byrd, Goodman, Spader, Ellis.....anyone coulda won...then Jones came along and battled with Timmy.....now its just Natalie dominating...not that I don't like him:D

Natalie is sick...I am glad he's having such a great year...only if Ellis or Dunk could win one! The season will be complete with a win by Ellis...

Please let it be known to all: Spader is NOT on Team Suzuki. He was just testing grounds on different bikes while he doesn't have any factory ties right now. I know this as a fact as i talked to the man and his partners. I talked to them about buying his yfz, but he still has another one and plans to test out many new bikes to see how they work. The deal came up with the Suzuki by Travis' good friend Paul Turner offered to let Travis ride Jeremiah Jone's bike from the last round.

I am not quite sure how he liked it, as it was stated before i believe he only rode it the tuesday before the race and then in the pro-am class while there.

Finally somebody has this right. Joe and Jami at ********.com interviewed Spader. He explains it all there. So watch out for them. They should be up very soon.

Dude, that was a blast seeing you bust them moves out! We were the big group right there cheering you on with the Jaspman shooting the pics. I don't think it was cockiness at all, you were just riding and having fun! But I must say, as good as you are, what are you doing in B class?!? You made it all look effortless.:macho That triple is sick! So is the step up. lol

I gotta ask...

Why does Doug Gust run 1 Maier Handguard and 1 different one? I think the different one is a Cycra?

Anyway, I just can't figure that out.

:D They were going to run the Maier ones in a mud race and only one would fit. Doug told them to leave the one on just to see how many people would ask about it. You are about the 200th person to ask. It was kinda a joke.:p

:ermm: Doug is Ok. Doug went to the doctor yesterday and had a CT scan on his head and an MRI on his back and knee just to make sure all is Ok. He will find out Wed. if he will be able to race. They have a concern because this is the 2nd concussion in less than 2 months. :p

I think he will be fine. He gets better everyday.
