2005 Impala SS

My girlfriend's dad just bought one of these last night. It's black, nice 17" chrome wheels, and all the amenities. He traded in his 2002 Impala, so I thought he just got another regular Impala. He popped the hood and I saw a 3.8L supercharged V6 sitting there, I was all smiles. I've yet to ride in it, but the specs say this thing puts out 240hp. He said it would move pretty good. Anyone have any experience with these cars? How do you like them? How about performance?

Its the same motor that they used in the Buick Regal gs, Grand prix gtp, and bonneville ssei.
Not bad motors I guess.. theres a few sites on the net dedicated to those supercharged 3.8s if you look.

those 3.8 motors been around for years and years, a lot of buick lasabres had em. real good motor, i think youll be happy:o

my wife wanted a 4 door when she got pregnant and thats what we got, I love it great gas mileage and enough power to still be fun and 4 doors........60,000 miles later no problems yet

That's good to hear. He and his wife had a 2002 Impala, and as far as I know, they didn't have any problems either. I'm hoping to get a ride in thei SS soon.

My dad has had two of the 96 impala ss's with the LS1 engine in them. He now has a 300c loaded to the max. I think he wants to trade it in for the new srt-8 300c as soon as he gets the chance though.

My stepmom had a GTP 4door, and for a big *** grocery getter it moved pretty well. Suited her just fine, too bad she sold it, it was fun to drive.

i've been meaning to throw one of those 3.8 series 2 superchargers on my moms mini van...i think im going to do it too but i need to get the computer reflashed and thats gonna be pricey. i just think it would be funny to do it and not tell my parents about it.
