unless you ride in alot of water or really watery mud it won't hurt. just when you drill the hold make sure you keep it towards the back of air box, then any water will go to bottom w/out hitting your filter. make sure you throw out your drain hole plug.

Putting the holes in an air box, or eliminating the cover helps reduce the air restiction the air filter may have..... which will ultimately help your engine breathe better..... Cool. On the flip note.... The chance of the filter getting full of water/dust/dirt/etc, will greatly increase, which will definetly hurt your performance and possibly your engine.

What air filter do you use now?

How offen do you clean it? If at times it needs to be cleaned after one ride, I would not think of adding holes to your air box. My 2 cents.

i cleen it after every 5 or so rides. For the most part, it seems to say clean alot. Would you suggest adding them?
