New Quad

Ok guys my dad said I have 4000 dollars to buy a new quad. I have lowered my choices to 250r, Blaster 400, or Banshee. Im 5'3" and have lots of riding experience and am upgrading from a 250ex. I like to do motocross and regular trail riding. Im looking for a overall fast all around quad. what do you think I should get. Please vote Thanks

Well, i dont know what you mean by new, either new to you, or new from a dealership? I would buy a used 400ex. I just bought mine completely pimped out and motocross ready for just a little more than you have, and i got impatient, i could have probably found a better deal. You just have to be careful when looking for a used quad.

You can buy my 330ex. I am asking $3000, and that would leave you with an extra grand to pimp it out even more. I would suggest suspension. I know your thinking its only a 330, but this quad will outrun 400ex's in a drag, and easily smoke them on a track. I drag raced a piped z-400 yesterday, and we were dead even, I beat him off the start, and then he caught up a little and we stayed even. I also raced a raptor, and it beat me by 3 or 4 quad legnths. Once we went out on the mx track, I easily smoked both of them. My point is, don't doubt it just because its a 330, it RIPS. But, if you are dead set on a 400 of some sort, then don't waste your money on a 400ex, they are underpowered. Get a z-400, they are very powerful, but like I said, there isn't much, if any difference between a z-400 and my 330. Plus my 330 is cheaper than any Z you will find, and that will leave you with the extra grand to buy suspension. Give me you e-mail address, and I'll send you some pics.

This 330 is the perfect quad for you because it fits everything you described for wanting a new quad perfectly. I know I am pretty far away from you but I will be willing to ship.

i got my z for 4 grand with all the mods in my sig, and i couldnt be happier. i say get a nice used 400ex. be patient though and find a nice one.

Like I said, if you are dead set on a 400, DO NOT waste your money on a 400ex. I usually don't diss honda, but the 400 is way underpowered. If you must have a 400, get the suzuki, you will be much happier.

buy a 300ex because you can add on a lot of upgrades and you cant beat the reliability of the 300ex.the motors last forever to!

he already has a 250ex, it wouldnt be much of an upgrade..

I have ridden all of the quads above and the 250R is still the No. 1 choice. If you would be doing strictly dragging I would suggest the Banshee because when built right the motors can put out some major HP! But the banshees don't handle worth a shiit compared to the 250R. The 400ex just doesn't do it for me as far as power, the motors are pretty bulletproof but after I get back on my R it feels twice as fast and ten times more fun. My buddy has an '03 Z400 with long travel T-pin front end and I still don't like the way it handles. It feels like your sitting right avove the front tires where the R has such a low center of gravity and I don't think its handling can be compared to much quads. To me, it wouldn't be a tough decision at all, Plus the value of R's is down right now so you could get a sick R for 4K! If you can go ride some local quads in your area and you'll agree why the 250R is the best choice for your style of riding!
