I kno its probably going to be a big hassel to get it out, possibly even requiring cutting it out...does it matter if i even take it out to grease it...honda never put a grease nipple on it so why would it need greasing. my swingarm pivots fine. I can only see greasing it will make it come out easier in the long when u acutly need to take it out to replace swingarm or pc'ing frame etc....

that's it. and if your going to pay $4K for a toy you can at least take care of it. preventative maintenance is the name of the game buddy.

when i first got my ex i never thought of doing this. So i went about a year without greasing, well one day i noticed that my swing arm would not piviot and it was like having no rear suspension. When i took it apart my bearings were crap and they were dry. Well just get it out grease it and you wont have to deal with something bigger down the road.

^ That's overdoing it. Certainly cant hurt, but isnt necessary. Every 6 months is more than enough.

depends entirely on what conditions you ride in. once a month is pushing it for me, and i use the right kind of lube and am not overlooking anything.

If you use a power washer to clean your bike, you will need to grease the bolt and bearings every 2 months. If you use a hose then once every 6 months is fine.

Just a tip.....a power washer is a quads works enemy!

just jack up the subframe till the shock isnt compressed anymore. i made a piece of wood that has a cutout at the top that is just high enough to do that.

I went to take mine out, had to cut it. found that I had no bearings in my swingarm. I mean nothing left, the swingarm was all ovaled out. only thing holding it on really was the shock.

does greasing the rear suspension links as important of greasing this bolt?

I just noticed on my swingarm bolt that it had a greese fitting or whatever you call it built onto the end of the bolt, and a couple little holes in the bolt itself for the grees to get to the berrings, pritty cool idea I thought.
