Yeah well I know this is no doctors forums or anything blah blah but I was just hoping one of you guys would know about this. My middle toe nail totally ripped out including the cartelidge that is underneath the skin and it is still held on by alittle cartelidge or skin. I was just wondering should i take the nail off or will it just eventually fall off and how long does it usually take it for a new one to grow. Hurts like a mofo.

Rip it off, happened to my nail to.

Do not rip it off, tape it down and let it fall off on its own... take quite a while for it to grow back fully...

Rip it off, and then put it in a box of cereal. Next morning, your mother will find a nasty surprize in her breakfast.

either way its gonna fall off...so just rip it off....i ripped the rest of mine off 2 weeks ago and only half of the new toenail was grown back...it grows slow...

ripping it will just irratate all the skin and everything else around it

no but in all seriousness, my dad is a volunteer firefighter/emt, and he said do not rip it off. you would probably be in more pain doing so. let it fall off, and keep it bandaged and clean.

Thanks man. I didn't even know it happend at first and then it hurt really bad and I realized my hole toenail is loose and bleeding. Not fun at all!.

i pinched my left pinky finger between 2 250Rs grab bars when we were unloading in glamis this year. (f'ing 2strokes!!) needless to say i looked like a member of the KISS army with one red pinky nail.

i always kept a bandaid on it, it evetually fell off on its own and was absolutley painless.

yea man get some of that medical tape, and tape it down so ya dont tear it off....that would just hurt it more and longer to heal if u tore it off...
