how will putting bigger tires such as bearclaws or spidertracks have on my '99 EX? now i have maxxis razr but they are getting a bit bald, i want to be able to get through the mudd without having to buy a sissy 600lb automatic. will the bigger tires have much stress on the gearbox? will top speed and acceleration go up or down?

top speed will go up if you go over 20 inches tall and acceleration will go down if you go over 20 inches tall if you get 20 inch tires it will be fine on your gearbox but it will be fien even running say 22s

im running 22 holeshot XCT tires on the rear. with stock gearing. there is more topend speed. but i did lose some bottom end.
its now harder to power wheelie in 2nd gear. now i need to clutch it up. my fuel economy is better now on long trail rides since im going faster at lower rpms.

I would say the tallest will be 22 with out gear changing.

i would try a set of razr2s in 20 rear and 22 frount, awesom setup and gets through all the deep pasty stuff.

my xcr's handle the mud around my country ( mostly clay) like it was pavement almost.

22" Razr 2s are the ticket. Drop to a 14 tooth in the front.
