Just wanna know what yalls biggest air is on a quad. Last Saturday at track i got somewhere around 110 feet ( measured it with my mx boot size 13) so i could be off. Just trying to get a perspective.

Since you werent saying it was you it doesnt matter.. BUT if you were trying to say that was you, and we knew for a FACT that it wasnt you, I think he or anyone else would have the right to call you out on that and not let you take someone elses credit for something.

Thought about the design for about a month and then essentially freehanded the curve via a 12' piece of string.
I took me about one full day and $100.00 to build....definately worth it, it sends you on the same launch every time unlike a dirt jump.;)

The ramp looks like it is a straight angle but it is not.
There is a gradual curve built into the side 2X12's via placement of the crossmembers.

I'll get a photo of the ramp itself and post it later on.

woood = death

And so do those side rails:eek2:

I dont see much point in building andy ramp that isnt around 8 ft tall. You cant get that much air time off anything else... I would just build a jump out dirt if it is only going to be around 4 or 5 feet tall.

1) dirt ramps are not portable.
2) a wood ramp can be butted right up to the landing, creating and very small and safe jump.
3) that wood ramp can produce from 6' to 15' high air with decent airtime(enough to do most tricks) I have jumped over 50' long on this ramp.
4) how are the side rails unsafe?
5) I agree steel is better but it is much more costly and more difficult to build.
6) everyone of this ramp's crossmembers is either directly butted against a supportleg or is secured with metal joists. it is also crossbraced 3 ways. VERY sturdy.

Of course, anyone using a wood ramp should check all the joints, etc. every few jumps to make sure there is no sign of fatigue.

All you believers enjoy!

YOU GUYS ARE CRAZY FOR GETTING THT MUCH AIR!!!!!!!

reddeisel
08-09-2005, 06:37 PM
not to go off subject but for you guys cachten big air. i got stock shocks and i get leary about hittin the real big ones.how big do you think i could hit and not kill myself on 01 400ex stock shocks? i mean i got the power and the balls just stock susp.

QuadR8cer12
08-09-2005, 06:49 PM
I was hitting a 80 ft gap at the redwood freestyle show off a metal ramp on stock yfz 450 shocks, those are alot better than 400 ex stock shocks. It all depends on how smooth you land on the downside.
