i would say if your going to go more than once, get some. if this is a 1 time thing you should ont spend the extra money. i would see if you could borrow some from a friend. cuz ur gunna wanna climb those big hills. just remember to keep your momentum up though

If you live close to the Silver Lake Dunes, I would recommend getting at least the rear paddles. Once you go once, you will want to ride the dunes all the time. I went to St. Anthony and now riding back home sucks. You will be going every chance you get.

its not that big of a deal if u get stuck. but if u climbing a hill, dont get in to high of a gear. with my stock 400 i was climbing in 2nd gear, but now ive got some stuff and imma see if i can make it in 3rd. just keep your momentum up and if it feals like ur going to get stuck i would go into a lower gear or just turn back down the hill and try again.

I rode silver lake for four years before I ever bought paddles the dunes there are just fine with stock tires. Hole shots you need to use a little finesse but they will work. Drop your tire pressure to 3 lbs. Paddles are the best for sand though. Have fun.

lol...funny...but seriously my dad had holeshots on his LT250R for many years and he did occasionally go to silver lake and when he did he was beating some quads that had paddles, you just have to know how to ride.
