Does anyone know if you can put a 450r subframe on a 04 400ex??

probably cause its aluminum and has the removable grab bar. but for your question i real have no idea but doubt it will just bolt up with some modification it might be able to work but i doubt it cause on the 450 the air box is completely different than on the 400

I doubt it because:
1. different aibox
2. different exhaust bolts
3. no battery holder on 450r subframe
4. any many other things.

oh well.. I guess ill have to compare them side by side. The main reason is that you cant remove the grab bar on the 400ex. I flipped back last week and the whole grab bar snapped ff. Guess ill have to weld a new one on. THanks

you dont need to weld on a new one. just buy a 250r grab bar and drill holes in your subframe to mount it. easy stuff, now you will have a detachable grab bar.;)

What about a 450r grabbar? does the width match up to a 400 ex tail section??

The 450R uses the same grabbar as a 88-89 250R. Which you can make work very easily on a 400EX.
