well, i headed out to practice yesterday. i SUCK at starts so i practiced them for a while. my reaction time went from about .7 to .3. well, one time it was a little too fast and my skid plate caught it as it was coming down and this is the result ...

it sure gets some attention. yeah, they're extremely nice people. most tracks would flip on you, possibly not let you back, and make you pay. btw, this was Panther Hollow MX at Huntingdon, PA.

how exactly did it catch your skid plat but not your tires?

i have the full body skit and it comes out about 3 inches in front of my bumper. it's above the tires at an angle where if the gate fell, it would rest on the skid a few inches before it hit the tires. and then when i saw it come down i let'r'rip and it just pushed the damn thing over and snapped it. my friend explained it to me and we lined it up again and looked and that's what happened. weird situation i guess.

I find it hard to beleive your reaction time is that good..to where the gate fist moves you can take off and break it backwards before it finishes dropping. Either that gate sits realy realy high...or you jumped the gun a second early..and hit it right as it was falling.

sorry, i forgot a few things to add...it was down a slop to the gate, it goes down and then up a hill. my front bumper was only about 3 inches from the gate, i was way to close. as soon as i let the clutch out i must have let the brake go a little early and maybe that's what caught it. i do have a really fast reaction time though.

EvilJester400ex, this guy actually made the gates himself instead of paying a bunch of money to buy them. they were welded and couldn't go backwards. i guess that's what happens when you make homemade stuff, oh well.
