john is a pikes peak right now.


john or kevin are good. but I like to yack with brook.


I really believe their 520 kit with +2 intake and +3 exhaust is the best on the market today ,of course that is what I use.

I run it with the web mysto cam and the web adjustable cam gear and springs.


but for true pro class race power in desert and motocross I think it is top of the line and reliable.
they are a real busy shop though

my buddy just got a 13.5:1 yfz built there. he is running one of their pipes too. it is really loud. i just wanted to look around. i heard they were possibly making a new head for the 450r. i don't know if this is true or not though. thanks

john wouldnt touch 4 strokes 2 years ago he was strictly banshees and 250r's now that the 450's are out its a different story. and if you only knew how long it took them to get that 520 going. also their are several 450cc bikes that will outrun that

I have yet to see a 450 that will outrun my 520. Should they have got the 520 going overnight.

Nmotion's 520 isnt that fast!!! my sparks 450r is faster than the 520.. by far!!!!i ride witht the guy that bought the 520 that was in dirt wheels and when we both holeshot he doesnt pull me we are the same.. until 5th gear he pulls me. but who neeeds 5th on a motocorss track

i don't think a 450 has ever pulled me on a holeshot with my 520, oh wait, i did get beat once by a 450 when my clutch took a chit. other than that the closest thing is a fst 500 yfz, and a 340 powervalved 250r.

I was at Cooperland this weekend and pulled both holeshots in the pro class. I am pretty sure Johnny Hale has a fast 450. Brice Simon has a fast YFZ450 also. The reason the 520 is faster is It just creates more torque. It has to be geared up. A sparks 450 puts about the same HP out as the 520 but not the torque or the torque at the low rpm's. I also pulled the holeshot in th +30 pro/am.

um no im sorry u didnt holeshot the pro class... johnny did.. i watched it with my dad the promoter.. for the money the 520 should be faster..

umm no sorry I did. The first moto Johnny passed me in the second corner by railing the berm while I took the inside into the three tabletops.
The second moto he had the Inside line on me But I had about Half a bike on him as I came around the outside he got hit By Brice. I led that race until the large stepup.

The 520 isn't alot faster than a sparks 450, but it is. It is also alot lower compression. I run 92 octane pump gas in my 520. The reason I built a 520 instead of a 450 is because I can run 12-1 compression instead of 13.8-1. The motor is faster, has alot more torque and in the long run is more reliable, due to the lower comp. The only downfall to the 520 is you can't run it in a 450 class. I don't run any nationals and every where I race is open cc limits.

Wow, this post has really gotten out of hand. Question asked and answered in the first 2 posts. If you don't like the 520, fine. What everyone keeps forgetting about when they say their 450 is faster than a 520 is: How modded is the 520? Is it just the cylinder and piston? If so which one? Is it the 11:1, 12:1 or the 13:1 comp piston? Does it have the big valves? Big carb? You get the idea, too many variables to just make a blanket statement.
We all have seen alot of dyno's and the highest numbered ones have been bigger bore, stroke or a combination of both. Don't get me wrong there is some fast stock bore bikes out there. These bikes have usually been thoroughly tuned on a dyno for peak performance.

I spent $2300 on a complete 520 kit. I thought a sparks 450 would run pretty close to the same. If your expecting to see a huge difference between the two then I see where your coming from. It does take 4 and 5th gear to really show the power difference, which is not as useful on the mx track.

By the way the TQRA series is ran very nicely. I was impressed. Tell your dad good job for me.

Yeah, the TQRA series is probably the best thing going in our region of the nation. East coast has NEATV and NQRA, while the west coast has QuadCross.....we have the TQRA and STQRA.

The competition is solid and consistent in whatever class you run at the TQRAs, and the pro class is always a joy to watch w/ the Miller boys, Johnny Hale, Brice Simon (when he shows up), and all the other very talented Pro class guys.

As far as the 520 goes, thats a lot of $$$ dropped on a motor and not much of a performance advantage from what I've seen out of the few 520s I've seen run. No doubt, its a good motor but the 450 stock bore motors being built can run w/ it neck and neck from what I've seen. Not sure how well it pays off on the track too, but who knows......

My mom doesnt come to the races... shes a girly girl!!! me and my dad are the only ones... its hard for him to help me with racing and run the races he is a great person and really love the sport!!
