Well here we are for round 5 after taking about a six week break from the ITP series. This round brings us back to Race Town 395 in Adelanto Ca. This is where the opening round was after Glen Helen and the first round was rained out.

Like we usualy do, we arrived the night before. I was surprised to see how many riders there were already there. This is a shot before the gates opened sunday morning.

I like to get up early and walk around just to see what's going on. Even though I don't get to race to much any more I still get the bug, others like to sleep in...

Some times I run across some cool things to take pictures of, like this license plate.. They drove in from Nevada as you can see. This series draws riders from as far away as Montana and Washington.

I also ran into a stranger Name Jeremy Schell, wondering around the pits as the sun came up. Jeremy looked a little lost lugging all his gear around. If you haven't heard The two time ITP champ is no longer with Alba. He had nothing but good things to say about them, just that they seen things a little different. He is now riding for GoldenWest Cycle.

Another strange face here to ITP this year. Some one who you may all know? Kory Ellis. Just coming from nationls after two podiums in a row. I talk to Ellis about his latest races. He was glad to have finally put together two good motos for a good finish.

One more little thing before we gwt into the racing. Here is a shot of Dana Creech's new Rig... Next race we hope to get some photos of the inside to show everyone.

Well here is the first corner of the first moto.. Jeremy Schell gets a good jump and holeshots it.

WestCoast Editor
06-15-2005, 10:10 AM
As they go through the corner you can see some tires up in the air.. Not a good sign for someone..

WestCoast Editor
06-15-2005, 10:11 AM
The rest of the races continue through the corner. We wait for the dust to clear to see who it is...

It turns out to be Doug Eichner... From some of the people on the inside of the turn, they said it looked like him and Dana tangled a little causing his quad to roll.

Back to the front, It was Schell leading with Cyle Chislock #2 in second, followed by the 94 of Dustin Nelson.

WestCoast Editor
06-15-2005, 10:18 AM
Dana Creech rounded out the top four spots.

WestCoast Editor
06-15-2005, 10:19 AM
Eichner had remounted his quad and was making his way back into the race...

WestCoast Editor
06-15-2005, 10:22 AM
Mean while Schell was still out front and looking good for someone who just got back on the quad after being out for 4 week with an injured wrist, he got racing the White Bros 4 Stroke Nationals..

WestCoast Editor

Cyle Chislock from Temecula Motorsports was doing a great job in the #2 spot. Cyle and his team just won the Baja 500.

06-15-2005, 10:27 AM
Kory Ellis who came out for a little track time was running right behind Dana Creech in the fifth spot.

WestCoast Editor
06-15-2005, 10:28 AM
Darrell Patton #35 was running in the 6 spot.

WestCoast Editor
06-15-2005, 10:29 AM
Mike Machado #61 after having some bad luck and motor problems the last couple races was running a strong seventh.

WestCoast Editor
06-15-2005, 10:31 AM
Nelson has now passed Chislock and is looking to try and catch Schell, who is having a great ride.

WestCoast Editor
06-15-2005, 10:33 AM
Chislock holding off Creech. Trying to stay in third.

WestCoast Editor
06-15-2005, 10:35 AM
Jimmy Robinson wasn't having a great day finishing back in the pack..

WestCoast Editor
06-15-2005, 10:37 AM
At the finish line it was Jeremy Schell with the first moto win. Followed by Nelson in second and Dana Creech in third.

WestCoast Editor
06-15-2005, 10:38 AM
Cyle Chislock had a good race but couldn't hold off Creech, giving him fourth.

WestCoast Editor
06-15-2005, 10:40 AM
Darrell Patton moved up to the fifth spot when Kory Ellis dropped out with a chain problem.

WestCoast Editor
06-15-2005, 10:41 AM
WOW Doug Eichner after his nasty crash in the first corner came all the way back and finished seventh.

A little intermission....

Here is Keith Taylor Showing off his new 450. He rides for Bigkidracing.com, Triumph Motorsports, Alba Action and Troy Lee Designs. He went on to win his class (450 Int.) today to stay on top of the points for the series...

Ok back to the racing...
Second moto Schell again got the holeshot but after a couple jumps and turns, Dana Creech was leading followed by Schell, Eichner and Nelson.

WestCoast Editor
06-15-2005, 10:53 AM
Dana had a clean track ahead of him and was putting distance on the field every corner.

WestCoast Editor
06-15-2005, 10:55 AM
Eichner had moved around Schell and was running in the second spot. But Schell was all over him trying to get back around.

WestCoast Editor
06-15-2005, 10:57 AM
Guzman #45 was having a better second moto..

WestCoast Editor
06-15-2005, 10:59 AM
Here Schell tries to go inside on Eichner but just can't get around him.

WestCoast Editor
06-15-2005, 11:00 AM
Nelson running in the fourth spot appears to waiting for Jeremy and Doug to do something wrong so he can take them both at the same time...?

WestCoast Editor
06-15-2005, 11:01 AM
Mike Machado is having another good moto running in fifth.

WestCoast Editor
06-15-2005, 11:03 AM
Darrell Patton And #5 of Ragan are battling for the sixth spot.

WestCoast Editor
06-15-2005, 11:04 AM
These guys are so close. This is actually the battle for the second spot which Eichner refuses to let go of.

WestCoast Editor
06-15-2005, 11:05 AM
Just another shot of how close these guys really are...

WestCoast Editor
06-15-2005, 11:06 AM
Ok. Look at this. It's like a train going around the track. Both Schell and Nelson are just waiting for something to happen.

WestCoast Editor
06-15-2005, 11:08 AM
Meanwhile Cyle Chislock who had a great first moto got a slow start in the second and has worked his way up to seventh just behind Patton.

WestCoast Editor
06-15-2005, 11:10 AM
Well something happened up front.. No Dana's on Vacation in first. Schell has dropped back to fourth and appears to be slowing down?

WestCoast Editor
06-15-2005, 11:12 AM
Mike Machado also moves past Schell. He doesn't appear to have any mechanical problems. We will have to find out after the race.

WestCoast Editor
06-15-2005, 11:14 AM
Here at the last lap You can see if you look real close Nelson trying to make the pass on the outside of Eichner..

WestCoast Editor
06-15-2005, 11:21 AM
Dana goes on to win moto 2 and take the overall. Giving him a little more breathing room as the series leader. Schell falls to fifth but with the 1-5 he takes third and Nelson pulls in the second overall. The next round of ITP will be back at Glen Helen. This is the last race here at Race Town for the ITP season. If you would like to see more of the action and all the race photos from other classes including the Pros you can visit Bigkidracing.com

Race Town I think is definately the best quad track down here in California. Well, its not a quad track but they let quads on it, thats what I meant. LOL. Glen Helen and Lake Elsinore are awesome too, but Race Town is just a blast.

I was just off of a wrist injury and had only been back on the bike for 5 days and just got beat from lack of seat time. I am training very hard right now trying to get back in shape before the Great Outdoor Games in FL. Hopefully I will be 100% for the rest of the ITP races this year. Thanks for the support !

one question..what's Mike Machado nacionality? MAchado is a Portuguese name...

06-29-2005, 05:51 PM
I believe everything aside from Alba is the same. He had Sparks build his motor from Florida, and considering that he won motos with a stock motor, look out!!

Good luck to ya Hick, have fun driving the Epic Rig to Florida!
