What is the difference in a stage 1 and a stage 2 hotcam. Hotcams recommends intake cam change only for woods riding apllications, which I am doing. Thanks

the stage 1 cam is for stock bore-426cc it is great forr bottom to midrange power, if you go bigger bore thats when you want the stage 2 (new stage 3) you wont lose any bottom end and will feel more power midrange to topend.

Hey man i have a 406ex with a stage 2 in and it runs great even on bottom end. I ride woods, open fire roads, tight mx tracks and some mud and it works great so if you get a higher compression piston you should be alright and the stage 2 has way better top end than the stage 1. Hope i helped out.

with a 406 ex, what bore over is that. I looked in rocky mountain atv magazine and they have pistons that are .04 over, and are all of the pistons a minimum of 11:1. It doesn't say in the magazine.

a 406 is .060 over there are a few different types of compression most common is 11:1 and 12:1 and im not sure if thats all they sell but i know 11:1 will run on pump gas
