For some reason on my suzuki ltz400 i am loosing throttle response it used to have a full yoshi pipe and i had to jet the carb now i put stock pipe on and left the jet in the carborator could this cause my z to loose some of its pep

Probably making it way to rich, check the plug. I am sure it was jetted way up for a full exhaust, I'd try to get a k&n to go with the exhaust you have ordered. Take the air lid off and see what that does.

Yup. stock pipe is making it rich.. so you're bogging and sputtering, no? ;) And, even with proper jetting you won't have the same pep as the aftermarket. Stock exhausts are more restrictive so they meet EPA and dB ordinances.

thanks for the help guys duke i am already running no air box lid i put that back on and it made it better:huh but yep bogging and sputtering is exactly right still looking for sum mori info

If your running stock pipe again w/ airbox lid. go to a mainjet setting of 2 sizes above stock for a starting point.

Or even easier.. put the lid back on and go with stock jetting ;).

you must put the stock lid and stock main back in or it will have no power. I did the same a few years ago on my 03' z400
