ok i know when you add a pipe and filter to a bike with a carb, you are letting more air threw the engine and you rejet the carb for more fuel to equal it out again.

my question is, if you add a pipe and filter to a fuel injected bike such as the new raptor or an atk, do you have to do anything to the motor since you are letting alot more air threw?

No because the injection system will automatically compasente the air/fuel mixture

Yeah, it's just like a EFI motorcycle or automobile. When intake/exhaust mods are done, the engine will automatically compensate for the mods. BTW, can't wait to see what kind of HP numbers people can get from the new Raptor 700. :D

yeah but when it broke, this is hard to fix and cost much more than a carb

Absolutely. It's more complex than a carburetor, and more costly. I would assume that Yamaha has the EFI system all worked out, since they've been making fuel-injected bikes for years now. So hopefully there won't be any problems.

You can also remap your EFI system for different situations.

You can have a Map for Dunes, one for Woods, and one for drags.

It seems easier, but like "FoxMxRiders" said if it breaks your screwed.

do they make fuel injection kits for other brands, like the 400ex that would be cool.

Air/Fuel mix, spark timing advance, rev limiter, etc across the power curve. (Combine your CDI with your carb.. and that's your EFI system, assuming they are using integrated.)

A programable one you just hook up to your PC/Laptop and download a new map.
