Hey guys,

I just got my 2000 400ex. I put a pro circuit T4 exhaust and a k&n filter as mods for now. What jetting do you recommend? I'm at the lowest elevation according to dynojet but that is from my friends z400 jet kit. What main / pilot jet should i use? What should the air/fuel be set at?? What setting should the needle be set at? Does anybody have a diagram of a 400ex carb so i know where to locate each part? Thanks

Vince

Yeah i know how to take it apart and install everything but just wondering which jets and where to set the air/fuel and which setting on the needle. Don't want to spend all the money on a dyno jet kit but if i have to spend the extra since i travel a lot i guess i will make it. Right now its at stock jetting and runs like crap so i will need some suggestions from you guys. thanks

with the pro circuit and the K&N with the air box lid on, i would try:

keihin 155-158 mainjet
keihin 42 pilot jet
stock needle clip position or clip moved down one position
2.5 turns out on the fuel screw

by the way... is there any noticeable difference in power or throttle response in a bigger pilot jet? I have a 42 Pilot Jet, but haven't put it in yet. will i notice anything?

the larger pilot jet will make sure you are not lean on the slow circuit and this will also make the bike start easier. it probably won't add any performance.

What would you guys recomend for my 2000 ex with the lid and snorkle off, K&N, and slip-on T4. Were at about 2000 elevation. Do you guys put something in place of the snorkle or just leave it open?? thanks
