i have been pricing out some 11:1 comp pistons lately and i am going to be putting in a hot cams. i have heard that the stage 1 is pretty good for producing some bottom end and thats what i want but i have also heard people say that the stage 1 is more for the lower compression pistons...is this true. if it is what are some other alternatives where i wont have to buy the core and all of the valve springs and rocker arms?

the stage 1 will work in lower compression motors as well as higher compression motors. if you are going with a high compression and large bore piston, you may want a more aggressive cam. if you want to maintain the best bottom end power, with a little more midrange and top end too, this is a good cam choice. this cam does tick loud though. another alternative would be the TC gncc cam. this will be more expensive though. i think they are around $200 if you give them your cam. both of these run off of stock springs and rockers. you just drop them in and go.
