help me carb problems

my 91 250x is just starting to have carb problems , it will act fine for a while then it will die if you don't keep pumbing the gas, sometimes gas will come out of the overflow , sometimes it will backfire , have cleaned carb several of times, and petcock , and every thing seems clean. please help

Have you checked to make sure your float level is set to factor spec? I may have gotten out of whack and running too deep. It can cause all of the above symptoms.

If you dont have a shop/clymers manual. Just holler at your dealer thay can tell you what to set it to.

If it's not the above.. the actualy float needle may be the issue and not seating correctly anymore.
