best exhaust 4 300 ex

looking for a good exhaust for my 300 and where to get it also what mods to start with for a faster 300?

Curtis Sparks is the best in my opinion, but you could also get a yoshi (overpriced) or an hfm slip on and put it on a white brothers headpipe (probablly not as good as a sparks and about the same price). So I would say go with a sparks x-4. As for more speed, go with a 330 kit, I love mine, there is SOOO much more power than a stock motor. Plus depending on how you gear it and if you get a good port and polish and a good cam and carb and all that other stuff, it will smoke a piped 400ex.

Give me your opinion: Is this a good exhaust? Is it better than stock? This should work on the 250x 300ex so at least it should be a good bang for the buck, right. Could the head pipe be used with an HMF or a Sparks slip on at a later time?

Oh dear go no!!. Stay away from cobra, DG, and FMF on a 300ex. Don't cheap out, get a sparks full system, they don't make them in a slip-on. A cobra actually makes less power than stock.

IMHO heres the order you want to work with.

Curtis Sparks X-4 (by far the best 300 pipe, he used to race 300's)
HMF w/ WhiteBro's Header
WhiteBros w/ Whitebro's header
FMF/DG/DMC (not horrible, but why?)
Yoshi (down here just because it's horribly overpriced)
Cobra (don't even think about it.. lol)
