330ex vs. 250 hybrid [Archive]

tell me what you guys think. would a 330 with webstage 3 cam, port polish ,edelbrock carb, pipe or would a yz250f motor on a 400ex frame would it just leave the 330 in the dust on a track.

The 330 would tear it a new *******... why would you put a YZ250F motor in a 400EX Frame...?

the yfz 250 has about 30 horse stock, a 330 has a bout 30 also, so its probably going to come down to the riders

were racing at little strugis, ky well even the 2 best riders with 330s cant keep up with it were thinking it is a 450.

then tell him you think its a 450 and you want to look at it to make sure he's not cheating. if tere are people around watching you cause a fuss, he will let you look at it if its really a 250;)

a 250f has more power than a 400 (36 vs 28) the 330 doesnt stand a chance

I know that kid its Daniel Longbom i think, i know his last name is longbom. Hes like 13 yrs. old, but he is a bad ***! He was beating alot of kids in my class that were like 16 and one was gonna be a senior in h-school and he was beating him to, and he had about the same quad. He is good.

what class was he running? when he leaves out off the gate it looks like its all he can do to handle the thing lol, kinda small for that fast of a quad seems like but hes a pretty good rider.

hes been racing forever, last year he was on a blaster hybrid with a yz90 engine in it and hardly ever lost. He is really tiny for that quad, but does do a good job handling it. His dad owns a shop and works on his motor and everything. and he has his own track and all.

Yeah i was born in Mt. Carmel,moved up here about 4 years ago.
Havent got to do much racing this year.
Raced down at Booneville,probably will hit some fair races.
Been wanting to go up and check out Taylorville

Whats your name, what class did you race at b-ville, and what was your number? I raced in the 101-350C class and my number was 7 slash. But i only raced the one on April 23rd, i was gone on all the others, i may have seen you. And have you heard of a Brent and Clint Bolden, and Jayden Ditterline?

Hey Ethan, im the kid that accidently rear ended you up at Carmi. Good job up at Duqoin last weekend. Longdons is pretty damn fast aint he? lol. That Justin Young #22 is pretty fast to, that stroked out motor and all, but you tore him up. You racin ne more of those arena crosses? IM waitin to get mine back from the shop. But i cant wait to ride it.

Nope, this kid is for sure Longbons. I think Westall hurt himself again. I know over the summer he broke his ankel tryin to hit a triple while runnin the 250 motor. Ive never seen him run with the 426 in. But ive been told that his fram is a 400EX Lonestar frame. He is just as good as Longbons. At Newton him and Longbons were neck and neck the whole time.

I know who longbons and westall our they both got the 250's. those two and corey steber all race locally around here there the faster ones. Yeah westall broke his ankle I think on one of the finish line jumps at noble or newton idk...Do you race the fair races around here what number are you?

Yea, this year I was terrible b/c it was my first full summer. But im startin to get more daring and everything, i didnt have enough power either. But now i will :). But yea, Cory is good to. The best in that class were, Jayden Ditterline, CLint and Brent Bolden, Sam Sterchi, Loren Dickerson, Justin Young, Cory Steemer, Westall, and Longbons. But, Ditterliner and the Boldens all got YFZ's and Dick sold his. And Justin Young doesnt hit ne thing ne more. hes just got a fast 4-wheeler. But I go to school with Ditterliner and the Boldens and they all do good on their 450's. Im glad their gone b/c they were hard competition. And by the way, im number 489.

Well this will be my first year im gonna start racing..my 4 wheelr is far from being done but I think im just gonna hit fairs for this year....like olney, newton, fairfeild, noble, albion...I've ridden with sam a few times I can keep up with him...Will you be at any of those races?

O yea, I'll be at all of those races. I think were gonna hit Casey a few times this year. But i'll be at most of the fairs. Make sure to go to P-ton, its always a good track.. I havent got to race it for the past to years b/c my quads been in pieces, but I aint missin it this year. And be on the lookout, my dad is tryin to get a race here in Wabash County. I'll let you know if it happens, and its lookin good right now. Whats your name? you probably know some of my friends and relatives in Olney.

lol. Yea, Walt is awesome, but hes got a lot of competiton at these arena crosses. These guys are good. But theyve got alot more motor than him to. Yea, What grade are you in?

I'm a sophmore...Walt is good...Then there is derek Lice that races dirtbikes....I've seen his track...He has a 90 foot down hill triple going right into a 90 foot uphill triple its crazy

J/p kyle, and to reply to the first poster, the 250F motors will walk all over a 330, theres no chance for them.

Hey sam ill be riding over at the river most likely today, I saw that brian kids track looks like a lotta fun...I havent seen you in a while. Ive been getting my 4 wheeler ready last year I wouldnt have stood a chance but this year ill be ready so watch out...lol Is that other kid on that red 300 gonna race this year the one with the track?

Kyle have you bent an axle running your wheel spacers?...I have a set I'm just afraid I'll bend my axle....but I guess that will give me an excuse to buy an extended one anyway

lol, im in the process of bending my axle. My dad knows it but wont admit it. It held up pretty good, but im just gonna run it until its not rideable or it snaps. Ineed a rear shock before ne thing.

Hey guys, all good riders run bent axles. Just look at the best - Bouchie, Graves, Sterchi they all have bent axles. In fact, i dont know if i would run as good with a strait one, cant say ive ever raced with a strait one either lol Anyway Stremme, i bounce off trees all the time with my spacers, and it wears the rear housing bearings faster, but i like them too much to take off. I might be at the river sunday on my dirtbike, but who knows. Look me up if your around the area.

Does larry still have his 350x?...I rode with a kid Justin Jones yesterday and he had one bolted up to a 300ex frame it didnt look pretty but it hauled. Him and his brother are thinking about racing it in the fairs next year.

Ya ive rode with Justin and Ross at Casey a few times, but never been to their track. Alex is a Freshman this year. He is Dalton Forestors competition and lives over by Mitch Washburn. Larry sold his 350 motor this week to a guy from Carbondale, so i think his racing days are over. His 250 R is for sale too, if you know anyone interested. Jason Jones used to race a couple years ago, but i havent seen him since. Thats awesome that Justin might race, but I figured hed be in a modified or something, not wheelers.

I'm not sure if its gonna be justin racing or his older brother. His older brother is the one that sold Walt that 250x way back. There thinking bout either racing the 350x or getting a new one.

Thats cool. Im sure either one of them will be tough. I raced one race with Jason in 03 and he finished just in front of me, but his 300 was pretty much junk. Hes gonna be tough on a good machine.

Yeah Chad is times younger brother....My other friend ryan bought tims old 300....its not in good shape but its got a good motor in it. He is considering racing this year but he is not for sure yet. Is there anything wrong with the one your selling?

o cool, whats his last name? The one i am selling will have all brand new a-arms, tierods, axle, the only thing is it will come with a stock pipe and the swingarm was cracked early this year. I had it welded by Larry Eckel (PROFESSIONAL), and held up through all my races. I think it will be fine, since i havent had any problems with it.
