ok so well my 300ex was running low on brake fluid so i put dot 3 in but it says to use dot 4. well i have noticed that they are a little weaker could it be because of the dot 3 instead of the dot 4.

Calipers are the two peices that rub against the rotor (the disk shape part). They might be worn down. Have you been hearing a "grinding" sound when trying to stop?

you should use a dot 4 it is made for hotter systems like disk brakes.

the pieces that rub against the disk are the brake pads:confused:

it dont really make a grinding sound. I got worn out pads on my quad and it makes more of a vibrating sound or buzz when i brake. just ofr the record I am driving on worn out pads because the disk is bent anyways.

those arent calipers. theyre brake pads. the caliper is what the brake pads are held in. and i would reccommend using the correct fluid next time. i dont think its a good idea to mix types.:ermm:
