Got to do some hard rideing on a new 400EX, man what an improvement over the 300EX, jumping and out right handeling, there is now comparison!!!

Wasn't impressed with the bottom end power though.

Will a 14 t sprocket on the front dramaticaly improve the performance off the bottom of firts gear for the tec rough stuff?

Thanks...

yes.... although if you do a lot of riding wide open in 5th you may be disappointed with the slight loss in top speed...

personally I switch back and forth, depending on where we are going to be riding.. since I did my motor mods I seldom use the 14 anymore, but when the motor was stock I ran it 75% of the time..

Yeah, what Leo said. I've actually still got the 14t even after dojng the 416 and cam, I really prefer the bottom end grunt. With the 14t I can bring up the front end in 3rd pretty easy, and 2nd it will stand right up with a twist of the throttle...

get one from the quadshop. they should be between 15 & 30 bucks.
make sure you apply loc-tite to the sprockets bolts. and don't spend too much time looking for the master link in your stock chain, because there isn't one.

I wasn't impressed with the 14T sprocket when I first switched, but over time I have come to like it quite a bit.

You can get a 13-15t front sprocket for $6.00 at www.rockymountainatv.com, but it is out of stock right now, so i ordered a renthal for $24.99, but it is supposed to be stronger than stock and i figure with a brand new fourwheeler, no need to rig.:devil
