clutch problems

i was riding my quad goin bout 10mph or so and when i went to pull in my clutch it all of the sudden went really soft on me (but it stayed engaged). so i turned it off and checked the adjuster on the perch and tightened it but when i rode it again it went soft. checked the threads on the perch there fine, i dont think the cable is broke, what else should i look for?

Your clutch lifter pin may be partially broken?

thanks for your reply, took it apart a while ago and the clutch cable is almost completely torn in half, guess ill drive up and get a new one.
