Been riding a while on my oil, time to change it up. Gonna use Amsoil 20w-50 wt., the motorcycle stuff, and a Honda filter. Any probs with that? I've changed oil in lots of stuff, just not my 400, this is first oil change after the first dealer adjustment.
It takes just a hair under 2 qts right? And I add 'bout 1.5, run it, and add the rest(after changing the filter)?
Any other tricks or opinions?
Thanks a lot!

also, i just checked their website; they have a new 4 stroke 0w40wt oil, say it's formulated for"hard working" 4 stroke engines like the new snowmobiles and atv's...what do you think?

I'd be hesitant to run a 0-40 oil... no real reason, your not planning to do any riding in -30 temps are you ;)
I've had good luck so far w/ 15-50 ... I run it even in the winter, but the quad is stored in a heated basement..

That's probably a pretty good oil if you're not doin the deed but on an EX, I would imagine you're slammin it; why else have an EX ! I talked to the tech services guys and the 0w-40 oil is for sport riding not for racing applications; they've got a 10w-40 that's already been proven.
