If I remember right, in the current dirtwheels there is an ad for a elec. start kit to put on the 450R. About $500

They are pretty easy to kick over and yes sometimes it will kick back on you!

If you dont give it any gas while you are kicking, like you are supposed to do, it will not kick back on you.

If you can't kick over a bike then you probably are not going to be able to handle the trx450r. It would be a good sign that his bike is really too much for your physical abilities. Get a 400ex or 300ex and be very careful. Most of the time I kick my 450r while sitting down.

the trx450r has automatic compression release, so aslong as you don't give it any gas when you kick it, it will not kick back (btw, giving it gas while kicking = cracked head) My nephew who is 6 can start my quad in 1-2 kicks.

ROFL, now you are funny. I did like it last night when we were at the GNC TT Nationals a 450R stalled out and the guy was kicking it for about a minute before he got it going. Lets just say they didn't place so hot.

Quit being so danged hard headed about the kickstart. Honda tried to win the weight race and they still lost to the YFZ. Either the kick or the e-start can both cost you money if you are a racer. I have just seen alot less e-starts have problems during a race.

I don't even understand how ricky carmichael can even finish a race without electric start.

Most people want electric start because they can't handle kicking over a bike.

If it helps you win a XC race then I totally understand.
