what do u think i could do to it for under $200.i was thinkin mabe a 250R racin hood with scoop for likr $50 and thats it.

tell me what u think for under $200?

I'd either get a pipe or some good tires on it like Maxxis or ITP holehots.

The pipe, depends if you want loud or quiet. I recomend the FMF Q for good power and for being quiet.

my birthday is in a week from now and my parents are gettin me nerfs and i was lookin at the Q and i was lookin at it and yes i want a quite pipe coz i have lots of nabours but dont know how much it costs canadian? and yes i do need some new tires.im going to be gettin some new razr 2s.

i know im getting a new bar coz i rolled my bike the other day so that will have to come first and then nerfs and probley pipe. DG or FMF Q.

if your getting the pipe you want to get a jet kit and aftermarket air filter like K&N or Uni...etc.
This will make it run great.
If you get a whole kit read the instructions carefully and be careful when you move the needle not to bust the pin. If you don't know what your doin then take it to your dealer of a good mechanic.
You'll be happy with your results.

also if your goin with the 20" tires then you may want to try the 14 tooth front sproket. Renthal-They are only like $20 and thats including shipping from www.rockymountainatv.com
The thing is you won't be able to run your case saver though.
I'm still trying to find an aftermarket one for mine.
JUST DON'T LET YOUR CHAIN GET WORN AND BREAK.
They you shouldn't need one, i havn't for over a year.
Just replace the chain if it gets worn.
Get a good chain that has an o- or x-ring.
I have now an RK x-ring
they are great.

yes you can. Just grind it down some...then when your chain is off, you have to put the chain around the front sprocket, then slide the sprocket/chain/case saver on all at once...

i ran w/out a case saver on my 300 this whole season (im really lucky i didnt have chain problems) but you should really use it cuz you never kno when your gonna sling the chain, or its gonna snap.

over the weekend this on kid i race with had his chain go into the case and he had the case saver on it just broke the mounts off and it went in

pretty good i ordered my nerfs and my bar but still no pipe and yes i have a uni fliter so im all good to go.but yea im getting so RAZR's from my friend down the street from me.brand new not even put on yet, but neways shes coming along.O yes i am ordering a 250R hood for the front just for that extra bling!

That sounds good, i was thinking about getting an R hood for mine, but im gonna be buying a 450R here in a couple of months anyhow so, i dont think im gonna do it.
cant wait to see what it looks like when you get it done.

I see there is a licence plate on the back of that 300, is it street legal?

no we have to put them on in nova scotia...cops suck man.they might be making some new rules like haveing front and back lisence plates and front and rear lights including rear brake lights and no atv is to be to low to the ground??? its soo gayed up out here but o well i'll just do as they say. and yea im exicted to get it done man and i will post pelnty of pics when shes done.

a friend did it for me....i have no clue what he did i just know it works better then the electric start...mine was fired.

Well, considering that the 300EX and 250X use basically the same motor case, you just need to get the crankcase covers for both sides, get the kickstarter assembly, and you'll have to have your case split to have one of the shafts changed/put in, something like that anyways. I checked into it before. But I think it'd just be a better idea to get a complete 250X motor, get a crank/rod assembly, cylinder jug, and anything else needed to convert it to a 300.

What I wanna do is get a 250X, have the motor converted to a 300EX crank, and have it bored .080 over, take it up to a 297. Get the head ported and polished, through in a new cam and some better valves. Maybe deck the head for a little more compression. Then throw on a larger carb. My best guess is that it would prolly be pretty damn fast.

i have a 250x bottom end w 300ex jug and head/rockers and i was told i would lose compression because the wrist pin is in a different spot,not the case ,everything worked great and it feels like i have more compression than before. i would like to swap cranks but i smoke 300exs as is.

nice! yea i didnt find any difference swiching from electric start to kick ...except for kicking insted of pushing a botton.
