What does everybody mean by "properly breaking it in" when you put in a new cam and piston?

do about 2 1/2- 3 hours of light rides. or what i did was just ride at the same speed and keep shifting gears up and down.. just do what you think is proper. dont blow it

good to do heat cycling, get it hot, let it cool , hot, cool...

as soon as i got done putting mine together i ripped it up and down the street a couple times let it cool down then did it again.i broke it in hard and good and it runs like a rapped ape !

Yeah, thats how a lot of atvriders break in their engines. I know I broke mine in nice and hard. Runs really good now.
