06-10-2005, 06:33 PM
ummm, those definately dont look like two different versions of yfz's, if thats what you meant. Besides, i dont think Yamaha would do that, they are going to leave that to companies like atk and gas gas.

i think they got something new for yfz, and change the plastic again on the 350

haha!

My guess is 700 rappy, 700 grizzly, 400 raptor (possibly), remodeled and true 450 yfz. That's about all I'm hoping for...along with a sick *** banshee!

I would hate to see a "true" 450 Yamaha on the stock lineup.

im sure theyll be sweet, but if i ever buy a new quad itll be either a honda. or if polaris ever comes out with a 450 (well, if it isnt a 450 trailblazer  )

yellow400ex05
06-11-2005, 07:39 AM
It's going to be a 250cc quad for a replacement of the blaster.
Just look at the pic closely. I think it looks like a small quad. And since they just recently came out with the 450 there obviously not going to make another one thats big they have to focus on the smaller quads.

I'm just curious but what was the last quad Honda came out with before the 450r?

TRX500
06-11-2005, 07:41 AM
800 Grizzly, 450 EFI, and a 700 EFI Rappy:blah:

It was posted on another site that it will be as I stated above. The guy stated that the Griz is a 800 on a different frame, and that Brock Parker and Marcus Gonzalez will be racing them for him. He also said the 450 will be EFI.

yeah, they'll probably do a 250, but its not gonna be anything like a 250EX. This 250 is gonna be fast.

yeah i think the grizz is gonna go up to 800 and get EFI, the YFZ is going to a true 450, the banshee will stay the same for its last year, the kodiak 450 may get EFI, the kodiak 400 may get IRS, and i think the raptors are going to stay the same.

any body thinkin it might be a little bigger than a 700,
maybe a 750 or 800 just to make sure that they will be faster than any other quad
just came to mind
1/500 chance of it happening tho
the engine might be a little to big

yfz 450 aluminum framed like the yz 250 , round hodna style swingarm, longer travel front end or redesigned shocks but at the stock width stance redesigned swingarm, true 450

I am certain that Yamaha will unveil their new 2wd WR450F. It has the same WR format, but the front wheel is hydraulically driven.

As for the Blaster & Banshee, 06 will be the last year for them. I have heard rumors that they will use a completely new platform with a YZ250F engine to replace the Blaster.

A new 700R Raptor is also gonna be released. Well, ******** or some other ATV site/mag accidentally put up their link to the news and it was titled as "Revamped YFZ & 700R Raptor for 06." I believe it was a mistake. One of the guys at YFZcentral saw the page but when he tried posting the link, it seems that they have deleted it already. Too bad he didn't save a screen shot or saved the information about them.

Also, a couple of Yamaha dealer representatives over at Central says that Yamaha will shock people with their new ATVs and even Motorcycles. This year seems like Yamaha stepped up and listened to the consumers.

Just spill the beans already:blah:

translation for raptor

One can at the RAPTOR yet what improve? One can! Impressively Yamaha with the Update of its success model reports itself YFM 660 R. however to designate it simply as an Update would be incorrect. The new RAPTOR 700 is a vehicle new totally that jointly has me the previous just once the design. The hammer is people, the 700er and hangs the fair slat again once a piece more highly for the competition! Past the times when one had to accept an unstable feeling on the large blue. Wide (1170mm) and long (1845mm) the new is. So and with improved load work, the part with deeper focal point hammers through the terrain. Also the slight weight of 180 kilos is there helpful. The frame stern is completely out of Alu and reminds inevitable of renntaugliche motorcycles out of same house. The culmination of the new draft is however the motor! That newly was developed totally and goes like the sow! Thanks to electronic motor management, a wide number of revolutions volume to be dosed optimally stands to the decree. Always sufficiently achievement in all life situation. The 700er gets through out of the cellar into high revolutions cleanly. To be sure we many a the aggressive characteristic of the predecessor missen, but the impression deceives. Thanks to balance wave, the motor runs more quietly and more cultivated. That more at achievement is better beherrschbar for the RAPTOR-pilot. Shortly said convinces, the entire package. Quadwelt was able to win recently a first load impression on the presentation in Dresden. That and yet more, together with the fantastic Actionfotos we present you with the test in the next edition.

heres a half arse at the yfz

Yamaha has equally yet one draufgelegt. Next to the brand-new RAPTOR, the Japanese also another improved YFZ 450 introduced. That counted anyway previously as the race-Quad simply. Most racing of the past both seasons became both into USA and in Europe on a 450er Yam won. Out of the box, the power package can go at the start and convinces with knackiger achievement and very good Handlichkeit. On that did nothing change. Changed one the cubic number on satisfied 449 ccm. Cylinder head, carburetor learned a thorough revision. The motor forfeited nothing at power, in the opposite. It is however thanks to a more favorable torque progress very much better beherrschbar and dosierbar.
That makes the YFZ however not beginner suitable. Now as ever belongs the blue into the terrain in order to become of athletes pilotiert. It goes incredibly forwards. Thanks to improved feather elements, one holds that very cleanly on course. The wing controls now an Excenter to spans of the chain and was trimmed on easily. The new YFZ brings only 159 kilos by the way on the scales. We introduce you in the next notebook the further development of the given as an ultimatum Serienrenn-Quads and describe our impression. Holland Rennass Joe masses was with at the same time and chats out of the vicinity box. Until there, the photos make you on your Quadwelt the mouth wässrig: -)

got this from the cannondale one

ENGINE
One press of the starter button wakes a beast of an engine – an incomparable 686cc of power at your fingertips. Combine this with a lightweight, nimble chassis (the Raptor 700 weighs just 180kg) and a host of groundbreaking ATV features, and you’ve got the leanest, meanest ride there is. From cross-country charging to twisting and turning wooded trails, the Raptor 700 is the lord and master of all terrain. The single cylinder, four-stroke gives the very highest performance over a wide rpm range, while the five-speed manual transmission (plus reverse gear) ensures that the engines power is efficiently supplied to the rear wheels throughout the engines rpm-range.

COMFORT
The Raptor 700 is also designed for comfort on those long days kicking trail. The advanced adjustable suspension, front upper A-arms and steering knuckles are examples of how comfort and handling are carefully balanced. Other refinements include hydraulic twin piston front brakes for increased brake force and a new tire design for improved lateral grip for crisp corner carving. The combination of brute force with tight handling means there’s no ride quite like the Raptor 700

FUEL INJECTION
With the Raptor 700’s state-of-the-art Electronic Fuel Injection you get an accurate and highly efficient electronic fuel mixture supply. This means you get an instant throttle response and an overall enhanced performance.

ALUMINIUM FRAME
A strong yet lightweight high-tension aluminium frame helps improve the power-to-weight ratio for enhanced handling.

LARGE ENGINE CAPACITY
The Raptor 700 has a whopping 686cc liquid-cooled, four-valve, four-stroke SOHC engine, offering high torque on low rpm. Whatever the terrain, whatever the obstacle, it can handle it.

ECCENTRIC AXLE CHAIN ADJUSTER
The Raptor 700 is fitted with an eccentric axle chain adjuster - a novel feature designed to make maintenance easier. The chain is adjusted by simply turning the eccentric axle insert, so keeping the proper tension at all times is simple.

that is so sweet:D i am actually debating sellin' the 400 for the new raptor:eek: like it has everything a trail rider wants. ill probably wait a year so that the new raptors might have a flaw just like the older raptors tranny

yeah for GNCC but its worthless for the motocross guys...

what they needed to do was put it on the 450 so people would actually have a good frame... they wouldn't be cracking them all the time like they do now on the 450s...

How did honda let you down? They haven't posted anything on the larger displacement quads? Do you have some other info that is not available yet?

Well, maybe all these new changes on the raptor are hinting to a big bore sport quad from maybe honda or suzuki? I mean why would yamaha do all of these changes to a machine that was already the best in its class? Something has to be up, yamaha is not the kind to spend money unless they need too.:blah:

Yam's finally started using technology in their quads that Cannondale started w/. The new 06 Raptor 700 will sport electronic fuel injection, an aluminum frame, and a new style chain adjuster. They've fixed the stability problems according to the site and made it into an open class racer. It's not been released to the public in the US and won't be till tonight at midnight but it is currently on the European sites since they released it a day earlier over there. Check it out. Oh yeah, the YFZ is still 439cc's, Banshee/Blaster's still in the lineup, and so is the Rator 660.

i dont think the blaster and banshee will be in this years lineup due to the 2 stroke ban and ****.

I dont think they are having those problems over seas. Its just here.....

So things may be different line up wise. They need to replace 2 quads......;)

Yea, and I think it would only cause more problems, any info on how fast it might go? I wouldn't think it would go that fast, but then again I've never heard of a 2wd Dirtbike.
