if you dont have that you will have to grind down the outside of a 18mm socket

I don't find anything that fit right there than the Honda Spark Plug Socket

You need the factory wrench because it is way down in there don't even bother trying to use anything else because it won't fit.

standing it on it's grabbar makes the process a lot easier.

you can get a spark plug wrech if you dont have the one that the tool kit gives you. its much easier than trying to use a socket wrench.

I still use a regular Craftsman 3/8 drive 18mm deep well socket with no problem.:ermm:

I drop the socket over the plug, attach the short extention, make sure it's seated properly, then attach the ratchet. Works every time for me:D

You can buy a wrench for it at Lowes, it's in the lawnmower section where the spark plugs are at and only cost 3 and some change, works great.

I've tried a 3/8 craftsman 18mm sparkplug wrench as well as a standard 18mm deepwell socket and I can't get to the plug, let alone get it out.

I'd rather not have to grind down the socket but what else is there?

ACTUALLY, what would help more than anything...

Someone measure the diameter of the spark plug wrench in the tool kit and let me know what it is.

Thats the only way to fit a 18mm in there, you have to grind down the sides of it.

I just took mine out today and I used a 18mm and it was a tight fit but I got it out fine but I did have all plastic off and tank....makes it much easy from the top

I was rooting around in some other threads and saw where a 12 point thinkwall socket doies the trick.

Both my 18mm spark plug socket and regular 18mm sockets are 6 point sockets.

Off to sears in the morning to get the 12 point.

If that don't cut it, the grinder will.
