I would say bro take it to the shop. If your chain fell off while you were ridding you probably got some other problems with the motor now. You can go to your local honda shop and get a service manual it will walk you threw it better then anyone its abotu 30 bux i belive.

im just going to take it to my engine builder to make sure its done right... he said if its just the chain it will cost me about 260 i think he said and if its valves too it will be a little bit more... and he can get it done in a week... it take me a long time if it was valves

is he gonna put a heavy duty cam chain in it for that much? if he is, get him to put a 03 or 04 crf450 cam chain in it. it's only like $30-35 (versus like 200 for a HD 400ex one) and just as strong.

just a tip. dont buy a 03 or 04 crf450 cam chain. it wont fit. you need a 02. the 03s and 04s have longer chains that wont fit. go with the 02.;)

Um the "heavy duty" cam chains for the 400s are only $90 anyways, but the 02CRF one is like $30 shipped. That seems awful high to replace just a cam chain. Ask him how much just the chain is.

most if not all of the companies that sell heavy duty cam chains, areactually selling you the 02 crf450 cam chains. they make a huge profit off of it.:chinese:
