he cant race his 400 in an ama race, he has to be 16;)

your gonna have to see what your local track offer for races that arent ama sanctioned if you want to race your 400. Most places will have a beginner and or a C class...just sign up for the lowest level quad class you can with your quad and age and go from there.

and like mxjunkie69 said you'll need a tether killswitch:)

Like they said, go tot the local track and see what they got, most tracks here have an open 4 stroke d class. You should be able to race at none ama races, but you just need your parents to sign. Just have fun and don't try to be the best, just do what you can and don't do anything you are uncomfortable with. Oh yea, kill switch.

thats bull****...anyway yeah you have to be 16 on ama-atva sanctioned tracks, but if you can find a local track that is privatly sanctioned your set..

who cares if your any good, just have fun.

my first race i was lapped by the leader, it took me a while to feel comfortable racing but onne i got comforatble and i wasnt worried about crashing and such i did alot better.

see if you can find some county fairs that are holding races this summer and race them at first till you get older.

it doesnt matter how good you are as long as you dont try anything stupid
in my first race i was on a mainly stock 300ex against 400ex's,440ex's,and a few raptors but i didnt care
i lost by a long way but i had fun and have been racing ever since

start out at local tracks that aren't AMA sanctioned and see how good you are. when i started, i had a 250EX and I had to race the stock class and any quad that was stock could race in it. this included the 400's, the 450's, and the 500's. being on a 250EX i didn't really have a chance but in a couple of races i started to get better. atg the end i ended up winning the points championship for that class just b/c i went to every race. just try it and see if its for you.
