if its already chromed...then why does it need polishing unless its to bring the shine back? and thats fine as long as you dont break through the chrome and chip it off.

No chrome, straight steel. What cost more to have done,PC or chrome?

chrome is more, but PC isnt as shiny as chrome its pretty darn close though from what i remember

coating it with anything will ruin the finish im pretty sure...i know it wont be as shiny if you covered it with somethin. theres no way you can polish steel unless its stainless steel.

WRONG, you can polish any steel. You can polish and then clearcoat it, it doesn't take away that much shine.

I polished my shift lever on my 400ex and it looks pretty good. I dont have to worry about rust because its strictly MX and that night i wash it off and dry it.

So just spray a clear coat over it?

what about moisture in the air? why does steel tubing rust when its just sitting there... no one puts water on it. steel rusts if you polish it, ive heard clear coat works for a while, but it does come off.
