Do you have to bleed the hydraulic clutch when you get them or do they come done already. If you haver to bleed them how do you do it. I have a clutch on order from magic racing. How much easier are they than a cable? Thanks for the info Steve

There pre bled. Just make sure it is away from the header and isnt somewhere where it could get cut. If you do that you probly wont ever have a problem with it.

You wont ever have to replace a cable with it. Unless you burn it then changing a line and bleeding is way more of a hassel then getting a new cable.

On mine I couldnt, tell much differnce between my magura and a new cable with my works connection easy pull perch. I had to go back to the cable with the hinson quick change clutch cover (couldnt find the right mount).

So how does it work with the in gear starting mechanism. Can it still be used? How does it get hooked to the new perch if it can still be used? Thanks for the info. I just thought about that. Steve

The Magura JACK generation II versions can have a clutch switch option and also come with a bleeder valve right on the slave cylinder.. The old ones you have wrap your switch wires together and bypass that functionality. I found it much easier to pull than the stock cable clutch with my HD clutch springs..

Here is a link to a gen II one on ebay. Magura clutch (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4556054460&category=34284&sspagename=WDVW)

Hey thanks alot for the info. I am not sure if I got the first or the second generation of the clutch. I got it from Magic racing. Does anyone know if it is the new one from there? Thanks again to everyone who has posted. Steve

Alright thanks for the good info about magura. I hope I will never have to switch it back for the cable. Does anyone know if the magura clutch from magic racing is generation 2? Thanks again Steve

Ok. Now I have my clutch perch ready to come off to put on the magura. My question is that when I disconnect the start thing
(black box W/ 2 wires) inside the cover on the perch so that the two wires are loose how do I connect them to get the start in gear thing to work again. Do I just get a piece of wire and stick it in the two wires to ghet it to work again? Thanks again for everyones help with this. Steve

You could just jump the connectors together, but that could cause problems. The best way to do it is to cut the connectors off and strip about 1/2" of insulation off of each wire and solder them together and put heat shrink or electrical tape over it. You could also twist the wires together and use a small wire nut with electrical tape over it if you don't have a soldering iron.
