Well I think you should save up or sell the 250x for a 400ex then or something a little faster and you probably wont get bored. My brother got $2100 for his 250x. When he got his 400ex he couldn't believe how much faster it was than his 250x.

Oh and I had a 250x with a 350x motor in it and it was pretty quick too. But I didn't really like it all that much. My 416ex is much better.

You're going to eventually get bored on dirtbikes also. Dont matter what you have, you are always eventually going to want something different/newer/faster/ etc...
Just the way it is.

On a side note, being bored riding is really common if you only have 1 or 2 places to ride. At least for me, riding out back all the time gets boring.

my 250x got a 350 kit in it so it is the same as 330 just as oor faster then a 400ex and plus its not really the speed thing at all its well when your riding a dirtbike hard you get this huge adreneline rush cause you dont really no wuts gonna happen next and on a quad its pretty predictable

sounds like you didnt get that let me try to explain it. your riding your dirtbike and you see this rock that sticks bout 4-6 inches off the ground so you debate in your head wheather to hit it or go round cuz if you hit it you could easily crash or you can well not crash and say your at the same spot on a 4 wheeler you dont even like debate bout goin over it you just do and you feel a little bump i just think theres more excitment on a dirbike (i hope you get this cuz i cant explain muck better than that)

I went through a spell a few years ago of wanting a dirtbike, I had a streetbike and wanted to stay on two wheels. I learned pretty quick I didn't want a dirt bike after bout the first three crashes or so. Yea, a dirtbike would be unpredictable to you now, but after you got used to it they would be just about as predictable as a quad.

It is going to end up just being you making the decision, but here is what I learned, dirtbikes hit the ground a lot, when they hit the ground you bend or break stuff, that stuff get expensive, and usually when the bike hits the ground you hit the ground and that hurts! If you aren't getting excitment out of the quad just ride harder, find bigger hills, try so variation in wheelies, just have fun. Oh, and I rode a few bikes when I was looking and really liked the kx125.

sounds like you are stuck on getting a dirt bike, which is cool because they are really fun. I started to lose intrest in quads when i had my blaster but i got a 400ex and now im thinking about building a hybrid. Since you are 14 i would suggest you get a dirt bike and just ride that and by the time you are 16 you'll have the money for a 450 quad :D . So if you do get a dirt bike and you are low on cash, get an rm125. I have ridden all the 125s and aside from the price ktm the rm is my favorite. As long as you are riding and supporting the local ORV stuff it's all good man.
