Hey all,
I've recently started to put back together my 400ex and found something I messed up on. I marked the cam sprocket and the timing chain but needless to say the permanent marker wore off on the chain. So now I have no idea where it would be in time. Is there a trick to getting it back in time?

Put the piston at tdc, the line with the t by it. Put the cam in with the lobes facing down, and be sure the lines on the cam sprocket are even with the head. Put all the slack in the chain on the tensionor side of the cylinder. and install the tensionor. Be sure that the lines don't move a lot from being aligned with the top of the head when you put the tensionor back on, or you may be off a tooth.
