what kind of oils does everyone use in their 450r? both sides. i was just wondering cause i pay $8 bucks a quart and would like to use something cheaper but if it the only way to have cheap insurance i'll continue.

I run Schaeffer Supreme7000 Syn racing oil in the engine.

Gt Thunder's blend for the tranny


Each is $4.00 a qt

Hondas one and only GN4 10w40, both sides.

I thought i was the only one that used Schaeffer's. There's not to many people that know about it. Best oil you can buy and it's only $4.

i run shell rotella. i will add the shell rotella synthetic in the engine side after break in.

mobile 1 gold cap 15w-50 in engine and honda tranny fluid

Silkolene Full sythentic race oil on the engine and Honda tranny oil in the tranny

This otta get some of you goin.I use,with no problems so far,100%synthetic Maxum4 Extra in the engine.For the tranny and clutch I use Chevron Delo 400 15-40(Rekluse Z-Start)

that doesn't get me going. :D both of these are good oils from what i hear. the maxima is a group V ester and i probably should try it out. the amsoil oils are only group IV's. which that is still good just with less esters. i don't know much about the chevron oil but i hear it is great for the price.

I read somewhere you shouldn't use 100% synthetic when breaking in a new cam (as in HRC).But I didn't read this until after the kit had been installed and in use for quite a while.Thus my concern about that.If Mobil One is good enough for a new Vette I guess my Honda will survive.
As for the Mobil oil,it is the recommended oil for use with the auto clutch.What a pleasant surprise to find the stuff at Walmart in a nice jug for couple dollars a GALLON!
You can make yourself crazy with stories about oils and their differences in price etc. etc.I feel go with top of the line products and you will have done the best you can without becoming a scientist....
