Quad isn't running right

Well the other day, I took the 330 otu for a spin, and it seemed like it had no power. So today, I was riding with my buddy who has a stock motored 300 with a yoshi pipe and 22 inch tires. We raced up the road, and he beat me!!!! I usually own him, so there is def. somethign screwed up. It seems to have lost all the snap it had, and it doesn't rev that fast , or just have as much torque as it should. I was thinking maybe valves out of adjustment, water in the gas, I really don't know. I put in a new plug and ran a plug test, and it came out a light gray color???? I always like to keep my quad running a little rich, but on the old plug when I took it out, it was black around the edges and up inside it, but that little bar that comes down to over top of the electrode was that same light gray color. I checked for air boot leaks, an dI found nothing. So I am at a complete loss, and I have no Idea what is wrong. I need help!

head gasket leak? carb gummed up? air filter clogged? just some stuff to look for

get new fuel lines, clean the petcock, replace the fuel, clean the carb and the jets, change the oil clean the filter

I just changed the oil about 1 week ago.

Check your fuel system.
Then check your compression.
If that's good, check your timing (make sure it didnt jump).

Actually, I am starting to think that I don't have the torque I should because my chain is lose. I just noticed it before I left, right now I am at a friends house, so I will try tightening it when i get home, and see if that fixes it.

Well it fixed it, lol. All the snap it had came back. I can pull it up easily in 5th gear again. :D :D :D . It is forsale, I am going to buy a project 250r. I have one I am looking at buying, but I need to sell mine first if you know anyone that wants mine, the price is $2800 firm.
