im removing the choke out of my carb but im wondering what everybody uses to plug the hole, that will last.thanks alot in advance:D

use a rubber vaccum plug. i think 1/2 and a hose clamp.

just remove the plate and leave the rod in there just incase u want to put it back in. and the u wpont need to plug a hole.

Go to an auto parts store and get a vacuum plug and a hose clamp, it works great. The throttle response is better!

taking the plate out of the carb for the choke is not going to to give u any more power really think about how much space is it really taking up:rolleyes:

I took mine out because when I would get into it, it would close. I filled mine with jb weld from the inside, then sanded it down flush.

yea i checked out that page but it didnt say wht to plug the hole with,but i took it out and got it pluged and the trottle responce was well worth the 15 minutes it took.thanks alot guys

how do you guys start your bikes, i have a 42 pilot 155 main and a X6, in the cold it wont start without the choke! and this is also coming from alot of other 400ex guys, mabey i should step it up to a 44.

ive got a45 and 2 turns out on my fuel mix screw,but every bikes different,i hit the throttle 2times hit the start and feather the throttle and it fires right up

I just pump the throttle 3 x's, and it fires right up!

mabey i will try it, and go up to a 44-45 pilot like you have, mine is just cold blooded, today it started without the choke, and i featherd the throttle but its almost 90 degrees today, and in the winter in 20 degree i need the choke or its not going anyware!

i havent checked it yet but im sure the amount of flow wont be enough to have to chage the jetting,by the way you diddnt offend me i was just blowing off some steam,haha

It doesnt help throttle response, it helps top end.
