I just rebuilt my banshee from the frame up but I was sitting here wondering, I do ride xc, harescrambles but for the most part I will be riding around my field and tracks.

should I cut them and how? I was thing just hack them completely off and leaving the 2-3inch strip

Cut them at the part where they start to rise up, I hate the way Banshee's look without a little something on the fender.

Dont know first hand on an ex but on a shee I was covered 5 times as bad when I didnt have the fenders. Any kind of curve you took your goggles get covered along with everything else like that. The fenders stop that type of spray.. imo

Well if you have extended a-arms your wheels stick out about a foot from the fenders anyways, theres no use for them. I have ridden XC, MX and have yet to found them useful, it also looks a lot cleaner with them cut.

it really aint that bad if you kno how to ride and you see a mudpuddle commin up you can wheelie over it and not get any mud on you

TCracin440ex....have u raced a XC race before with your plastics like that? my guess would be no being as you have mx tires on it. Its not right to talk like you everything about chopping your plastics if you never actually had experience in a race

Josh its mainly personal preference. Ride a quad with them cut the ride yours and see. Me i like seeing my front tires and on the track i have yet to get hit with anything but since u are doing xc u might get some mud on u. But me personally i like it for looks and i dunno i just prefer riding a quad with cut fenders heres a pic of my 400ex with cut fronts.(just bringing it back up from a tilt) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v367/250ex3/100_2416.jpg

Yeah I have stock plastic on my 300ex and i am thinking about cutting them just because they are all scratched up to begin with and if I like I am going to be the maier racing cut plastic. I have ridden with cut and not cut fenders and there really is no difference, you cant avoid the mud. also, does anyone have any suggestions on my color choice for my new fenders? Thanks

Fenders don't always help.. lol

I still run them on my 300 though.

Here's a good example Mike Lucas #228 gives us of a muddy XC race. (pulled off of one of the race reviews from this site)
