View Full Version : Quick Clutch Question

Yeah, Yeah, this may seem like a stupid question, but a quick answer would help me out a TON. In my previous post, I posted how my bike was cutting out at high RPM and gears... Well, as someone suggested, I believe my clutch was slipping. I have the side cover off right now and think I may have made a minor mistake reassembling it. On a stock clutch, I put all the plates in, and then put 2 of the fiber plates and one steel plate in the shallow slot of the basket. I have the service manual, and have a feeling youre only supposed to have one fiber and one steel in the shallow groove, but I cant tell for sure from the pictures....

So the question is... On a STOCK clutch, how many fiber plates should be aligned in the shallow groove, ONE or TWO??

Should it be 6 fibers in the main grooves and one in the shallow groove, or 5 fibers in the main grooves and two in the shallow groove?

I know, Im a dumbass, but your help is appreciated more than I can explain...
