i am lookin for an aftermarket cdi box and i need to know which one to get, i know i heard about some having starting troubles but i cant remember if it was the white bros or big gun.... also are the more expensive ones (like the dyna fs) worth the extra money?

if any of you have any experience with any kind of aftermarket cdi please let me know your opinions about them

thanks

I had a srp rev box that i bought from magicracing.com on my old 400ex , I had no starting troubles but i gained very little performance , i thought it was a waste of $$$ , if i had to do it over again i would have bought something else.

grrrr.. heres the skinny on rev boxes..

If you rev out your bike, and you feel the power drop off, its aboslutly pointless to get a rev box.. The spark really isnt that much of a hotter spark from the numourous boxes that you can buy.. ALTHO.. the dyna DOES make a considerable differenece in the power curve.. the bad part about it is they dont last long.. Chucked here on the board has went through 3 dyna's in the past 2 or so years.. if dyna's were a little better quailty, id definatly suggest them.. plus is programmable to put in your own curves

I've got a Sparks CDI on my wifes 400ex. Won't even begin to start unless the battery is FULLY charged. Other than that it runs great. Honestly though, save your $100 and a little more, then invest in a cam for it. You will see a bigger power increase with that.
