I have a 96 300ex and I took it out last week and somehow managed to get water in the oil. I didn't really go through much water, just the average sized mud hole (between ankle and half way up shin depth) I never stopped in it. Well, I checked the oil after I got back and after cleaning and it was milky, so I changed it. How does water get into the oil and How do I stop it?

engine breather tube, dipstick with no O-ring, oil filter cover, only things I can think of

Or it might suck enough through the carb and leak down between the rings, or get in between the casings. I would just make sure all the bolts are tight everywhere and see if you might have any oil leaks anywhere, if oil is getting out somewhere water could get in.
