View Full Version : Anyone else ever had this happen???

First big race this weekend and I managed to qualify for the final on my old 400 against a field primarily of 450s. Either the second or third lap in my rear shock (stocker with the elka dual rate conversion) blew out on me. It was squattin right down on the ground when I pulled off. (I still managed an 8th place out of 16 guys). I finally got the time to take it off tonight and found something else I wasn't expecting. The plastic collar that separates the two springs broke. I was just wondering if anyone else ever had this happen? Is this uncommon?

I have not seen this before. I don't know you so I won't make any fat jokes ;) If I knew you I might say your 400 is screaming for you to lose some weight. ;) probably just bad luck. Kudos to be broken and still faster than half the pack.

Im only 180, whether thats fat or not to you, I'm the light-weight in our group. We got two guys on our team in the 275lb region:eek2: . No problems with their shocks at all bastuds. I think my 400 is just telling me to get a 450.

Yea I'm only kidden about the fat jokes. I weigh a little more than you. So I really can't make those jokes. I was in Canandaigua Motorsports (http://www.canandaiguamotorsports.com/) gettin oil and a filter and they have a 05 450 sitting on the show room floor beggin to be riden.

Trying to do all of the D3 tracks in NY this year, but mostly ride at royal mountain and fort plain (twister valley) ~ website for twister = www.twistervalley.com I go to school in utica though, but I live in amsterdam.

I ride around my house. Sometimes I go over to my brother-n-laws. I have ridden with other friends near Dresden, NY. It has been a long time since I have ridden down there though. There was a great sand/gravel pit that was a lot of fun to ride in.
