I have searched this site and I have not been able to get a definitive answer.

What would I lose by using a pair of stock length front shocks for a 250X/300EX with +2 a-arms rather than a pair of stock length shocks made for plus two a-arms?

I don't race, but I need to upgrade and I'm having a hard time finding something used that fits my weight and riding style.

Thanks,

LM

Any stock shock mounted on +2 a-arms will not do well because they will not be valved correctly for that a-arms geometry. Basically, you will have a very bouncy ride which will not be fun at all. Wait until you find a set of shocks valved for +2 a-arms and your weight and riding style.

sure everything will bolt up....but you can bottom out the front end by jumping on the bumper;) WAY to soft to do any kind of riding...you will need shocks valved for +2's and your weight

Thanks for your help. I guess I will wait.

i called elka about my shocks and they said if i get +2 arms u dont "re-valve" them for +2's....u just buy stiffer bottom springs because with the longer arms theres more leverage wich would make the shock softer...
