my guess would be some 285's or 33x12.50's on a 8 inch wide rim or maybe a 10 inch wide

285s will fit under a stock suspension. my bfgs do anyway. but why are you lifting a 2wd and puttin mud tires on it?

Me and a buddy both had that style dodges with 33-12.50s. Both were on 10" rims. My dad had 305s on a stock suspension too. All you need to make 33s work is put the kit on the front to raise the springs. They will only rub just a little if you turn all the way, no cutting or anything. You can do it for like 10 bucks at autozone, or you can order the spacers that go above the springs for like 100. I would try to save up a little more and look at a suspension lift, there are some companies getting fairly reasonable on their prices. Oh, I would think that you could get 35s or 315s on a 3" body.
