my family is headin out to silver lake and elsewhere this thursday-sunday. we are takin the ferry across lake michigan. i was wondering if there was a place we could rent some quads from? none of us have ever been to the dunes so if you guys got some tips? we don't want to drag all our quad that far.

If you want to go out on the dunes and ride, IMO bring your own stuff!

You can rent jeeps by the hour and drive them yourself but it is a "guided tour". You can not just take off from the group and do your own thing Very pricey!!

You can rent a two person, Briggs powered, mini buggy that will get you around the dunes but it WILL NOT climb any of the bigger hills! Again very pricey!

Or you can drive your own truck out there if you are bringing something that will make it out there. Basically anything that is 4 wheel drive will make it out and back. Might not climb anything but you can still cruise around the dunes that way.

There are no companies that have quads for rent at silver lake.
