Ride height of stock rear shock

Is there an alternative to lowering the ride height of the back shock by using something other than the key from honda? I would really like to lower my rear a little because ever since I got my tcs's it feels too high in the back. This won't make it softer will it? And yes I know I should get an aftermarket rear shock but I don't really have the money right now and I'm pretty light so it feels fine on the track for now.

I used a flat punch and a rubber mallet to undo the top ring. Then, I just spun the spring with my hands. the adjuster ring moves with the spring. Worked for me.

How much of a difference in height and stiffness of the shock did you see?
