e-series discs

i put my discs on facing forward on accident one day when i was rejetting my bike and cleanin it all up, its running really good but then i noticed they were forward and I switched them back and it started running like crap.

so i guess my question is will it hurt to run them facing forward?the bike is runnin perfect with them like that
