View Full Version : 400ex a arms/spindle

ok i got my a arms of so i can paint em. i took both of them off connected to the spindle i got the top a arm of my hottilg it with a rubber mallet. the bottom one isnt being as cooperative a sprayed a bunch of pb on the threads and keep hitting it with the mallet but it still aint coming off. any body got any ideas?

ok ben beating on it since last post. still wont budge and i dont thave the special little tool the manual says u need.

You need to apply pressure to the stud then hit the spindle with a hammer, not too hard though.

I used a makeshift tool using the nut from the stud and a socket, I don't remember exactly how I did it though:ermm:

ok i got a socketwedged inbetween the top and botom of the srocket and am using the nut as a type of crank, i turned it uot untill i couldnt anymore so the socket is wedged in there and puting pressure ont the stud. ive hit the a arm with the mallet and the spindle but still aint moving at all

Use a regular hammer but not so hard that it damages the spindle.

i just said screw it and wraped of the entire spindle, it works its just harder to move it around when im painting it
